Obama taps Duke prof for AG post
President Obama has nominated Christopher H. Schroeder, Charles S. Murphy Professor of Law and Professor of Public Policy Studies and director of the Program in Public Law at Duke University, to an assistant attorney general post.
If confirmed, Schroeder would head up the Office of Legal Policy.
“Chris Schroeder is a brilliant legal scholar and a gifted teacher,” Michael Schoenfeld, Duke’s vice president for public affairs and government relations, told The Chronicle. “His selection for this critical position means that President Obama will have the best possible person working on legal policy issues.”
The Chronicle reported that Schroeder was a member of the Obama transition team. He will continue to have a relationship with Duke, the student newspaper reported.
Our congratulations to Professor Schroeder.
