Eight Durham- and RTP-based companies are among the 25 North Carolina companies to watch, according to CED, the Southeast’s largest entrepreneurial support organization.

The third annual awards honors "growth-oriented, second-stage companies that demonstrate high performance in their market and exhibit innovative products."

“These 25 companies collectively tell the story of how North Carolina is growing jobs and revenue through innovation,” said Joan Siefert Rose, CED president. “We are pleased that the winners represent a wide range of the state’s regions and industry sectors. Each company is unique and we will be sharing the stories of their success at the awards ceremony.”

Advanced Liquid Logic, Inc.

Advanced Liquid Logic employs patented microfluidics technology to automate complex biological workflows for customers in life science research, clinical diagnostic testing and DNA forensics. These systems, comprising bench-top instruments and disposable cartridges, reduce the time and cost associated with advanced molecular analysis.

Argyle Social

Argyle develops software products that help small and medium size businesses execute and measure marketing programs on social networks like Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn.

Automated Insights, Inc.

Automated Insights, Inc. (AI) represents the next revolution in content creation. The company’s technology transforms vast amounts of raw data into compelling narrative content and powerful visualizations. The content is written entirely by software and can be published in any format, including headlines, summaries and, most impressively, long-form articles and stories. In addition, the content can be published cost-effectively at just about any scale via the web, mobile applications, and all types of social media (including Facebook and Twitter). In essence, the company uses technology to humanize big data, and automate knowledge and insight at scale.

Netsertive serves selected vertical industries including automotive, sports and fitness, audio/video, appliances, furniture, medical practices and more.

PharPoint Research, Inc.

PharPoint Research is a drug development service provider offering our services in project management, clinical monitoring, data management and biostatistical services to clients in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.

Relevance, Inc.

Relevance develops software and provides consulting for start-ups as well as larger, enterprise level companies. We use agile methods focused on short, iterative release plans and daily communication and collaboration with clients.

Zift Solutions, Inc.

Zift Solutions provides a platform that supports marketing activities for thousands of small and medium sized businesses. The system drastically reduces the costs involved by creating a platform where the companies' suppliers can cost effectively put together the marketing campaigns for these businesses.
