Hundreds of spectators showed up this weekend to Durham Centre to cheer on the 73 teams competing in this past Saturday's DOUGHMAN, Durham's triathlon and eating competition.
Team Dain's Place, sponsored by - you guessed it - Dain's Place, earned the first place prize, earning, among other prizes, a sweet year-long subscription to Durham Magazine. Suffern All-Stars and Prodoughceratops claimed second and third place respectively.
Children from the SeeSaw Studio and SEEDS programs awarded Team Macho Men with the Spirit of Durham Award, given to the team whose costume best represents Durham.
With more than $17,000 raised by competing teams alone (not including support from sponsors or the banquet ticket sales), the event was a win-win for everyone involved. The top fundraising team was Team Public Mastication. They raised $3,400. Teams DOC and Victorious Secret both raised $1,500.
