Foodie

Something like Silence of the Lambs meets Dinner for Schmucks starring a bunch of local talent? Sounds like a must-see to me.

The short film Foodie, written and produced by Durham’s Eryk Pruitt, is about a restaurant professional invited to an exclusive, underground supper club who finds out there's much more on the menu than he bargained for. The film features an array of Triangle film and theater talent including Nick Karner, Jeff Alguire, Tracey Coppedge, David Berberian, Emlee Vassilos, Meredith Sause, Gilly Conklin, Tony Hughes, Alena Koch and John Jimerson. Christopher G. Moore, winner of Best Horror Director of 2011 at the New York City International Film Festival, directs the movie along with cinematographer Ismail Abdelkhalek.

The film was nominated for Best Horror of 2012 at the Cape Fear Independent Film Festival at the end of April. The filmmakers, cast and crew hope to raise funds to enter the movie into more film festivals across the country, hence the $5 suggested donation for the 7pm screening at Motorco next Thursday. Join those involved in the production of the film at the screening, along with a number of food trucks. KoKyu BBQ will prepare menu items based on the "menu" from Foodie to feast on … if you dare.

Foodie-the movie

If you can't make the 7 pm showing, don't despair. It is my understanding they will replay the 30 minute film throughout the night.
