Myself and a few friends stopped by Dos Perros. True to form, the restaurant presented us with a menu that featured authentic Mexican dishes with a gourmet twist. The “omnivore menu” included shrimp-quinoa fritters with caramelized green pineapple salsa, pork ribs braised in tamarind, cinnamon and orange peel, and flan “impossible.”
Vegetarians weren't left out, as Dos Perros also served up a flavorful vegetarian menu consisting of green plantain tamale filled with lentils and mushrooms, soy “chicken” pozole and coconut-pineapple sorbet.
Everything was tasty, of course, but Dos Perros got the most points for its inventiveness. The prix fixe menu allowed us to experience just what makes this downtown favorite unique.
Only 363 days until restaurant week hits the Triangle again. Let the countdown begin!
