Do you like this?

Valentine's Day

If you’re reading this post and realizing that Valentine’s Day is um, today, don’t fret. We’ve got some ideas that are low-key but can be even more romantic than the typical grand gestures.

Brinner – If you missed breakfast in bed make up for it by serving breakfast for dinner. This is great with a special guy or gal or even with the kiddos. Throw some heart shaped pancakes or some pastries from Guglhupf for added spirit.

Skip the Florist – Head to the Durham Garden Center and find your loved one something that will last much longer such as a potted hydrangea or even pretty ivy.

Post-It - Rather than trying your hand at poetry or elaborate love letters, keep it short and sticky. Get home a little early and add some sweet and even humorous notes in places where they are sure to be found. Perhaps “You Give Me the Chills” in the freezer, or “You Make Me Feel Flushed” in the obvious place.

Order In – If you’re not into cooking of course order your favorite dishes from a place like Durham Takeout  but also think of your girlfriend or husband who is in the office all day or stuck working the evening. Consider ordering them a pizza or even baking one yourself in a heart shape. Deliver it just in time for that office lunch or late night snack.

Love Year Round – If you’re stuck in the office all day and need a gift idea that avoids the lines, use a computer program like Microsoft Publisher or hit any photo lab to print a personalized calendar using photos of you and your significant other or just of something that they love. Pups perhaps?

No matter how you choose to celebrate or not celebrate we hope that you all have a Happy Valentine’s Day! Good luck!
