The Beast and their big band perform at Motorco tonight. The music should be back in the gardens next Wednesday when The Old Ceremony perform.
Tonight’s kick-off concert to the Music in the Gardens series featuring hip-hop band The Beast may have been moved inside to Motorco due to inclement weather, with the show beginning at 8pm instead of 7pm, but the quartet still plans to bring big jazz melodies to the venue, performing with a 12-piece ensemble that was meant to be heard out of doors among the daisies.
Provided the weather cooperates, the rest of the concerts should take place outdoors on the lawn behind the Duke Gardens’ Visitor Center. With local favorites like The Old Ceremony and Mandolin Orange slated for this year’s summer series lineup, you’ll want to nab your tickets soon if you haven’t already. Admission is only $12, and all concerts begin at 7pm with the lawn opening 30 minutes before show time. Food and beverages can be purchased at the concerts, or save some dough and bring your own picnic.
