Barbera Wine

Jacuzzi probably brings to mind a whirlpool bath, but the Jacuzzi family, now third generation Americans, have been innovators for decades. Among their lasting contributions is viticulture. They make numerous wines, with many reflective of their Italian heritage. The most recent vintage of Barbera is a treat and definitely worth looking out for.

2010 Barbera, Jacuzzi Family Vineyards, Mendocino County $16 srp

Sumptuous fruit impressions with ripe plum and mulberry notes. Slightly grapey, but in a fresh, most appealing manner - not for any lack of complexity. Tar, briar and earthy overtones spice up the overt bouquet. Presents lively, crushed berry flavors, middleweight texture and refreshing acidity on the long, rollicking finish. There's promise of settling down a bit if you prefer a softer texture - but it rocks now! Drink today-2015. Good value.
