Blue Coffee Café has become a tried-and-true staple of downtown since it opened its doors on the corner of Corcoran and Parrish Streets in October 2005.
To commemorate its seventh anniversary, the coffee shop is hosting a celebration this Friday with festivities all day, including live jazz music; a breakfast reception from 9-11am with free Danishes, breakfast sandwiches and the Café’s signature coffees; a commemorative $7 lunch from 11am-3pm consisting of one meat choice, two sides, bread, dessert and a drink; and a live-music, social networking event with free, light fare from 4-7pm.
The proprietor of Blue Coffee Café, Gwen Mathews, said in a press release that the anniversary “celebrates our loyal patrons, welcomes new patrons and thanks our dedicated staff for their continuing support as partners in our growth.
“We are convinced the next seven years will provide Blue Coffee Café with even more opportunities to grow and to bond with the communities we serve."
The Café has remained prosperous in spite of the economic recession, revitalization, streetscape project and the opening of many new business ventures in downtown. Gwen chalks that up to good old-fashioned hospitality.
“Blue Coffee Café provides a great atmosphere for all people.” Gwen said. “From corporate to construction, everyone feels comfortable.”
Blue Coffee Café is currently open 6 days a week – Monday – Friday from 7am to 7pm and Saturday from 8am to 5pm. The Café is available for rentals – parties, wedding events, business meetings, etc. – and also provides catering services that extend beyond the items on the menu.
