Coach K

Coach K talks to the spectators about his practice philosophy

Enjoy floor-side seats at a Duke basketball practice then have dinner with Coach Mike Krzyzewski himself, and help a great cause while you're at it.

Tickets are still available for Monday's Inside Duke Basketball benefitting the Emily Krzyzewski Center.

I had the pleasure of attending last year and can tell you it's a one-of-a-kind experience. You get a rare glimpse into the intense preparations that have made Coach K the winningest coach of all time and four-time national champion.

The Q-and-A session after dinner in Scharf Hall is equally enlightening and entertaining. (Coach can go from motivational speaker to jokester and back like nobody's business.)

Plus, there are few better charitable organizations around than Emily K. The after-school program serves "academically-focused, low-income students in out-of-school programming designed to help them achieve in school, gain entry to college, and break the cycle of poverty in their families."

The center, named for Coach K's late mother, just graduated its first class. Everyone received multiple offers to college, as well as a combined $350,000 in scholarships and grants.

Tickets are $250 and can be purchased HERE. Check-in for the event begins at 2:30pm, with practice starting promptly at 3:15pm.
