The iconic Ed Mitchell is planning to open a new barbecue joint, Ed Mitchell’s ‘Que, on the ground floor of Diamond View III at American Tobacco Campus in the fall. It'll be Ed's first restaurant venture since he led The Pit in Raleigh to international acclaim.
The restaurant will feature outdoor seating in addition to 150 seats inside the space; casual lunches starting around $10 with slightly more formal dinners starting around $15 - all starring Ed’s authentic whole-hog, pit-cooked barbecue; locally produced hogs and vegetables; and a full bar and diverse wine cellar.
“There’s a shared heritage between what I’m doing with barbecue and what’s happening at American Tobacco Campus that makes this unique,” Ed said in a press release. “North Carolina was built in large part on the Golden Leaf and on barbecue. We’re adding new twists to that heritage. American Tobacco Campus is now a center of 21st Century innovation. Ed Mitchell’s ‘Que will feel just as fresh while delivering the best barbecue around.”
The Pit, meanwhile, is set to open a second location in the same building as Fullsteam at the corner of Geer Street and Rigsbee Avenue in July.
