Do you like this?

One of the enthusiastic emcees of Friday's Fun Run at Pearsontown Elementary said it best: "You're about to see a wild herd of cute buffalo."

That was a fairly accurate description of the hundreds of white-shirted kindergartners and first-graders who then took off running to raise their heart rates, their spirits and money for both their school and needy children in Guatamala. (2nd-5th graders participated later in the day.)

The Fun Run, hosted by BoosterThon, Inc., which provided those enthusiastic run leaders, raised about $35,000 for the Pearsontown PTA. Additional proceeds will go to playground equipment in Guatamala, courtesy of BoosterThon.

There were plenty of parents on hand to cheer on the kids, as you'll see in the accompanying slideshow.

  • The kids had a BLAST at the Fun Run!!

I must agree! My son had a BALL!! They walked, ran, skipped, hopped, jumped, rolled, tumbled, screamed, drank water, had a wonderful time. My son just LOVED it! I volunteered for a spell and sprayed them with water as they ran by! Good job Boosterthon!!

  • Boosterthon Fun Run was AWESOME!

We had a great time! The children loved it!!! I have never known of a fundraiser where the children actually get involved and have fun! The Boosterthon team was great!!! They were onsite for 9 days and visited each classroom for 5 monutes every day to take the children on an EPIC adventure. The children learned how to Encourage others, Play with others, Invite others to play with them and Celebrate their school mates accomplishments!!! We had a great day!!!
