Legendary comedian Jerry Seinfeld with Rob Cotter, founder and CEO of Organic Transit
Will New Yorkers soon catch glimpses of Jerry Seinfeld rolling through the streets of Manhattan in Organic Transit’s solar electric-assisted biking vehicle, the ELF? Perhaps.
“I couldn't tell you exactly how Jerry discovered Organic Transit," says Rob Cotter, founder and CEO of Organic Transit. "But I can tell you, like lots of people, when he saw what we were doing, he was overcome with curiosity.”
Rob first spotted Jerry with a couple of friends, standing outside and just staring at the storefront on East Chapel Hill Street.
“I can say without qualification that he loved [the ELF],” Rob says. “Jerry is a Porsche collector, and it reminded him of the earliest generation of Porsches from the ‘40s. As a biking enthusiast, sports car aficionado and [someone] concerned for the environment, he was very excited and amazed at all we accomplished in the past 10 months.
“We're very happy to consider Jerry Seinfeld a friend and fan of Organic Transit,” Rob says.
The comedian was in town this weekend for back-to-back stand-up performances Saturday at the Durham Performing Arts Center. Jerry also gave two thumbs up to another East Chapel Hill Street tenant, Pizzeria Toro, during his 9:30pm show. With so much to love in the Bull City, maybe we’ll be saying hello to Jerry again soon.
