Rocktoberfest

Costume-clad customers at Rocktoberfest 2011

Don’t hang up your lederhosen and dirndl dresses just yet – there’s more Oktoberfest fun to be had this Saturday from 4-10pm at Guglhupf, where German-born owner Claudia Cooper is putting her own spin on the holiday at the contemporary European café and restaurant.

Indulge in traditional German street fare – think roast brats, weisswurst, sauerkraut, potato salad, brezel, apple strudel and more – while enjoying, naturally, a German-crafted brew like Hacker Pschorr, Spaten, Franziskaner or Gaffel. Local Duck Rabbit beer will also be on tap, along with wine by the glass.

All food will be cooked and served outside on the patio. Once your appetite is satisfied, dance off the hearty meal to the tunes of The Oompah Trio, playing traditional Bavarian music from 5–7pm, and Die Trophaen Manneu (The Trophy Husbands) from 7:30-10pm. Face-painting by Character Paints will also be available for both kids and adults.

No reservations are needed and there’s no cover charge for Rocktoberfest. You can pay for food and drink with paper coupons purchased at Guglhupf that evening. Dinners are $8 - $12, and sides are $4 a la carte. Desserts range from $2 - $5. Coupons can be purchased by cash or credit card, and some stations will also accept cash and cards directly.
