handmade honeymoon

Chad and Amy Whited author the funny, informative Triangle Honeymoon blog. Every Tuesday, they bring us an exclusive post just for Durham Magazine readers. Be sure to check out their blog regularly.

If there’s one thing that a year in Durham has taught us it’s that our new town is full of super talented people. We are constantly amazed by the handmade but fancy goods we stumble upon at farmers markets, galleries, the Scrap Exchange and even online.

A quick search on Etsy.com for Durham vendors (check it out for yourself here) will show you guys exactly what we mean – at great prices. Here are some of the things that caught our eye so much that they’ve scored a one way trip to the Whited mailbox.

1. Taco Greeting Card by Shed Letterpress, $ 4.50

2. Vintage Beaded Earrings by Lowell & Louise, $8.00

3. Spiced Apple Pumpkin Soap by Hello Crafty, $ 3.90

4. Diamond Pleated Canvas Pouch by Modern Radar, $14.00

Honorable mention goes to the Mill & Bird leather tote ($350) that Amy is not-so-secretly coveting, and also to the wish-we-had-a- nursery New York City eco baby mobile from Felted Gypsy’s Etsy shop.

And if you love those ivory vintage beaded earrings as much as the wife does, be sure to visit our blog this week because we’re giving them away to one lucky reader!
