Scott Faber

"Can I ask a stupid question?"

Those were the first words out of my mouth at Scott Faber's most recent photography class last Thursday night. If you're not familiar, Scott is an award winning local photographer with a studio on 9th Street and serious skills.

Lucky for me I now know how to manually focus my camera, with my eyeball and everything. I didn't know this was possible before Thursday; I've always been an automatic kind of girl. This is just an example of the pearls of wisdom that Scott will bestow upon you in his "Fresh Out of The Box" intro class.

All of this newfound knowledge makes me optimistic for the future of me and my DSLR camera. However, if you're a normal person and own a camera that doesn't have 5,000 buttons on it and have no need for RAW images, Scott's classes are still for you. His offerings feature courses in basic camera technique, lighting your photos and how to compose a great image.

That's right! You don't have to wait to use Picasa to straighten your images or crop out that dog bum you didn't realize was in your shot. The game may have just changed, my friends.

Check out the entire schedule of classes HERE, and consider joining me on Thursday night for a class all about lighting. I'm sure to be that girl that asks all the stupid questions so you won't have to.
