On the way to Duke Chapel (seen from the top of the French Family Science Center)
Duke University’s Office of News & Communication and Duke Photography co-hosted the second #pictureDuke Photo Walk on Friday. The science-themed tour led our group under overcast skies to the Duke University Live Plant Collections, the Duke Canine Cognition Center, the Duke Chemistry Department at the French Family Science Center and finally to the Duke Institute for Brain Sciences in the Mary Duke Biddle Trent Semans Center.
Along the way, we were able to snap photos of anything and everything we found interesting, so long as we tagged #pictureDuke when posting it to social media, if we chose to do so. Some folks held up their smartphones or digital point-and-shoots to capture snapshots, while others carried tripods and bulky Canons and Nikons. No matter the level of expertise, everyone was welcome to ask questions of university photographers or the folks working in some of the labs and research facilities we explored.
Walk participants had the chance to submit their favorite shots to win recognition and prizes. See the winners on #pictureDuke's blog here.
And be sure to check out the slideshow of our favorite shots, and let us know what you think!
