The Makery

Sisters and Durham natives Brita, Krista Anne, and Sarah Rose Nordgren have teamed up to launch The Makery, an e-commerce website selling art and crafts made in North Carolina. Each week, The Makery will feature 1-3 handmade products made by local artists and craftspeople at a discounted price - think Etsy with a local slant.

The sisters, all artists and writers themselves, grew up with an appreciation for the arts and were inspired to create The Makery by the robust community of North Carolina artists and craftspeople. They wanted to find a way to connect the talented makers around them with buyers who value the talent and care they put into their handmade items. Thus, The Makery was born.

The sister team has launched an online Kickstarter campaign to raise the money necessary to get their business off the ground. The campaign will run until March 31 and the sisters hope to raise $4,450.
