Moshi Moshi

It’s getting hot out there – cool off by treating yourself to a short, trendy haircut while supporting SEEDS, Durham’s educational community garden. Hairstylists from Moshi Moshi’s Durham and Chapel Hill locations collaborate in a Cut-A-Thon on Friday, June 15, from 5-9pm at the hair salon’s Durham location at Golden Belt. Haircuts, makeup applications and bang touch-ups will be offered by donation with 100% of the proceeds going towards SEEDS to help further their mission of using gardening to cultivate a respect for life, the Earth and each other.

Appointments will be made on a walk-in basis, and there’ll be a special raffle for those who make higher donations. Raffle prizes include items from Tip Top Cycles, Toast, Blend Café, Scratch Bakery and more. Organizers from SEEDS will also be on hand to provide information about their community programs and to sell plant starts for tomatoes, basil, peppers and more.

Blend Café, Golden Belt’s coffee and frozen yogurt shop, is getting in on the philanthropic action by serving special blended yogurts made with SEEDS ingredients, including fresh mint and lemon balm, just a few doors down from the Moshi Moshi fundraiser. Blend plans on contributing 15% of all proceeds made during the event towards SEEDS.

Moshi Moshi hopes to raise more than $2,000, so save the date if you’re in need of a trim!
