On Wednesday, Feb. 27, My Retirement Education Center will offer a class on how to maximize Social Security benefits and increase overall understanding of the retirement process.
Along with a basic overview of Social Security, the Optimizing Social Security class will provide information on everything from what forms need to be filled out to how Social Security works as part of a complete retirement income plan. Attendees will also receive a personalized analysis of their own situation.
Started in early 2012 by certified financial planner Steve Gaito, My Retirement Education Center is a Raleigh-based organization that serves as an educational resource for people of all ages who want to begin preparing for retirement.
The class will run from noon-1pm at The Broad Street Café, 1116 Broad St. The cost is $50 per person, and spouses can attend for free.
