Sandwiched in the middle of Casbah's weekend musical line-up composed of band Hadwynn's CD release party on Thursday and an evening with Jessy Carolina & The Hot Mess on Saturday is a performance by Toon and The Real Laww on Friday. A portion of the proceeds from this show will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project based out of Jacksonville, Fla..
"Being a Marine myself, this is an organization that is near and dear to my heart," says J Lawrence, aka The Real Laww. The Wounded Warrior Project is dedicated to helping injured service members aid and assist each other while providing unique, direct programs and services to meet the needs of injured service members. Now just returning from a successful tour in Afghanistan, The Real Laww is currently working on two solo projects: "A Mix Tape Vol. 3" and "The L@w Cometh," projected to be released early this year.
Co-host Kurrell Rice, aka Toon, is a music performance artist, producer, rapper and singer. He first rose to local fame after several live performances at Duke University alongside, most notably, major label recording artist Mike Posner, Big Sean and 2am Club.
