Making straight A’s throughout a school year - let alone four years of high school - is an incredible accomplishment, and one that 237 Durham Public School students accomplished for the 2011-12 school year. Nineteen seniors in that group made A’s in every class during their high school careers.
To celebrate, students from City of Medicine Academy, Durham School of the Arts, Southern School of Engineering, Riverside, Northern, Jordan, Middle College, Early College, Southern, Hillside and Hillside New Tech High Schools, their parents, and DPS faculty joined together for a fiesta-themed luncheon at the Durham Armory last Friday. Saludos Compay provided the entertainment and, after Superintendent Eric J. Becoats gave his closing remarks, the students shook maracas to festively commemorate their achievements.
