J Vineyards is located in the Russian River Valley of California. Judy Jordan has been making wines here for over 25 years now (!), which makes some of us feel rather ancient indeed! The glass-enclosed, vista-perfect tasting room befits Judy's elegance and style in all of the wines she crafts. For a relatively small price, you can experience some of the magic that regularly goes on here.
2011 Pinot Gris, J Vineyards & Winery $15 srp
Silky blond color. Nose of ripe pineapple, lime and honeyed guava all rolled into a "drink me please" bundle. Irresistible! Flavors are smooth and lingering with fresh-squeezed, juicy lemon cream elements and just enough kick on the finish to preserve refreshment. Begs for grilled seafood, sweet & sour pork or simply as a buffer against the remaining 80 degree plus afternoons. Drink now-2013.
