Dog wash

Bring your dirty pooch to the dog wash on Saturday and APS volunteers will have your pup bright and beautiful in no time!

Motorco Music Hall - Check out the three concerts going on at Motorco this weekend. Friday, Katharine Whalen, famed voice of the Squirrel Nut Zippers, will celebrate the release of her new album at 8pm. Ticket prices are to be announced. Saturday, Motorco delivers two shows, the first being a matinee in the Garage featuring Let Me Run and Almost People at 4pm, with tickets selling for $5 a pop. Casbah -The Casbah also has a great line-up for the weekend.  On Friday, check out Delta Rae with Jeanne Jolly at 7pm. Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. Then on Saturday, Music Hates You takes the stage with local bands The Moaners and The Old One-Two. Doors open at 8pm and tickets are $5 in advance and $8 the day of the show. NC Comicon Local Creator Spotlight - Calling all comic book fans! Ultimate Comics will be hosting an event Saturday from 11am-5pm showcasing local comics creators' works and talent. Artists and writers Tommy Lee Edwards, John Mahoney, Angi Shearstone and more will be present to share and sign their works. Proceeds will go directly toward the NC Comicon Guest Fund. Whole Foods Market 11th Annual Dog Wash - Got a dirty dog on your hands? Whole Foods and the Animal Protection Society of Durham will gladly take your filthy, furry friend and make him or her sparkle at the 2011 dog wash this Saturday from 10am-2pm in the Duke Administrative Building parking lot. There is a suggested donation of $15, for which APS volunteers will bathe, rinse and towel dry your pup. All proceeds will benefit APS of Durham. Greek Night - Parizade celebrates their annual Greek night in honor of the Demeter, Greek goddess of the harvest and fertility. The festivities begin Sunday at 6pm with an extensive buffet serving Greek favorites such as braised lamb with orzo, spanikopita and many more mouth-watering dishes. The buffet ends around 8:30pm, when the music and dancing begins. Tickets are $30 for adults, $15 for children under 12 and free for children 5 and under.
