Carter Brown

Nine-year-old Carter Brown just won the 2012 National American Miss Junior Pre-Teen North Carolina at the state pageant in Winston-Salem. What will she do next? Go to Disneyland, of course.

A member of the John Avery Boys and Girls Club competition cheerleading squad and player on the 10-years-old and under Durham Hurricanes basketball team, Carter won over the judges with her poise, presentation and inner beauty through a round of one-on-one interviews, a prepared personal introduction presented on stage, a formal wear competition and participation in community service.

Carter will go on to compete at the national level, and will also represent the state of North Carolina in Anaheim, California at Disneyland during Thanksgiving week. There, she will have the opportunity to win her share of $500,000 in cash and prizes including the ultimate door prize – a 2012 Ford Mustang convertible.
