    SEEDlings Summer Camp information:

    SEEDS hosts four one-week, half-day summer camps for Durham youngsters. Youth will reconnect with their environment while learning about the plants, animals and other creatures we share with among the planet.

    Details:

    Time: 8:00am-12:00pm daily, Monday- Friday

    Meals: Snack will be served, no lunch, no breakfast

    Cost: Sliding Scale – we ask those who can to pay at least $100 for the week. Need-based scholarships are also available.

    Ages: Rising first graders-Rising fifth graders

    Camp Size: 15-20

    June 18-22: “Grow it, Cook it, Eat it!” Become a Gardener and a Chef all in one week! Spend the week planting seeds, harvesting vegetables, cooking garden food, watching worms, holding chickens, and exploring the secrets of the garden.

    June 25 -29: “Martial Arts and Animals” Snapping Turtle Stance, Great Blue Heron Spear, Snake Fist and many other techniques are featured in this unique movement camp that introduces martial arts and the animals that inspired the movement.

    July 9 – July 13: “Earth Superheros”: It’s a bird, It’s a plane! It’s Earth Superheroes! Kids will learn to use their super-powers to save the Earth

    in this Ecology based camp. Campers will utilize the garden environment to observe the cycles of nature, the interdependence of plants and animals, and the importance of taking care of our planet.

    July 16 – 20 : “The Prehistoric Garden” What is a Dinosaur plant? What did prehistoric animals eat? Campers unravel the mysteries of prehistoric plants and animals as they act out duties of a junior paleontologist.
