Wanda Maggart, Durham Tech's senior vice president for institutional advancement and the driving force behind the 50th anniversary festivities, is joined by Drs. Wynn and Ingram
Durham Technical Community College marked half a century of serving the community and preparing thousands of students for better careers and better lives during a well-attended event Friday afternoon.
Former president Dr. Phail Wynn Jr., founding board member George Newton, current board vice chair MaryAnn Black and current president Dr. Bill Ingram all spoke about the strides the school has made and what the future will hold.
Afterward, guests checked out the massive mural commissioned for the anniversary and strolled through rooms decked out with mementos from each of the five decades that Durham Tech has existed. (The psychedelic 70s room was a big hit!)
