November cover dog

We are dog tired after exhausting our brains trying to come up with the very BEST dog puns possible in bringing you our special November issue, featuring our readers' beloved pups!

We received more than 40 outstanding submissions, but there could only be one dog gracing our cover.

That would be Hayley, known in Watts-Hillandale as "The Jumping Dog" for very good reason! You'll see why when you pick up a copy of our latest issue, on stands any day now! Hayley's owner, Patricia Nichols, says "Besides being extremely affectionate and sweet, she has the ability to jump about six feet high from standing on all fours!"

Ultimately Hayley's athletic prowess got her on the cover, but head inside for plenty more awesome Durham dogs, with stories from their owners ranging from the hilarious to the tear-jerking. And head back to durhammag.com a bit later for a slideshow of the "Best of the Rest!"

Elsewhere in the November issue, we take a closer look at Papas Grille, dine at home with the owner of Six Plates Wine Bar and get to know some of the best retailers in South Durham.

Plus, check out David Bradley's photographic look at what members of the Duke men's basketball like to do when they're enjoying all that Durham has to offer.

All that plus pics from a slew of fun Bull City get-togethers, a complete listing of upcoming events and more.

Look to buy your copy at Parker & Otis, The Regulator Bookshop, Barnes & Noble, Whole Foods Market, Sam’s Quik Shop and Harris Teeter. Click HERE to get a subscription for yourself or a friend.

(Oh, and please enjoy the delightfully funkadelic and thoroughly thematic video we've included, ;))
